Backstory

- Prologue A new life brought into the world.
Naomi was born in Seattle, Washington on a cold, late afternoon. It was on the 2nd of January when Naomi entered a small, middle class family of what was now four. Her small family consists of two sweet, yet hard-working parents and a gorgeous older sister with brains. Her Japanese mother, fluent with her English, originally worked as a marine biologist with her father, an American, but soon quit her job to take care of Naomi at home. As for her older sister, Olivia, she was a senior in high school now and soon preparing to set herself off to college.

The family worked together to raise Naomi into being a fine, young woman who was ready for the real world. They took little baby steps though, just like Naomi did as she began to walk. They took turns, mainly her mother and Olivia, to feed her, bathe her, change her, and much more. As for the father, constantly busy with his work, he helped as much as he could during his free time. Just for one little child, it was a bit of a task to deal with.
- The Beginning Time to head off to school, oh dear.

A few years passed and Naomi was finally ready to begin her schooling. Naomi wasn't particularly ready to enter this world just yet. That was mainly because she didn't have much experience with interacting with other children her age. She normally kept to her family and herself, nobody else. This lead to her having trouble with socializing with the other children. She grew into having a quiet, shy personality. Too much of a timid introvert to make contact with her peers, thus leaving her to be alone during lunch and recess time.
Despite the fact that she couldn't make friends, she didn't let that get in the way of her learning. She eventually began to feel that she didn't need to make friends what-so-ever. She enjoyed learning more than making friends, which turned Naomi being a child who looked forward to going to school every week day. She sat in her desk, fidgeting with excitement as she was ready to learn. Springing out of her seat with her hand in the air whenever she knew the answer to a question their teacher asked. Naomi might've looked like a "nerd," or so the other children called it, but she honestly didn't care about what they thought. She loved to learn, especially when it involved science and sea life.

Being exposed to her father's work quite a lot, she grew a huge interest marine biology. Her father would often take the family on trips to the beach during his free time. The father and sometimes the mother, who use to be a marine biologist as well, would teach their children about what could be found in the ocean. Naomi loved spending more time with her family than friends, that's if she ever made any if she could or wanted to.
- Mid-Way What's going on? Is mom alright?

At the age of ten, something fishy was going on and Naomi didn't know what it was. Her mother was frequently visiting the hospital. Sometimes she would stay there longer than just one day. Naomi began to grow anxious of what was happening. She wanted answers, but her father nor Olivia wouldn't share. The distressed looks on their faces told Naomi enough that something was wrong with mother. Those fake smiles and made up "She's fine" excuses weren't enough to fool her. She knew something was up and she desperately needed to know.

Ironically, she got what she wanted when she turned eleven. Her mother passed away from what happened to be cancer. After Naomi demanded for answers, her father finally told her. The tears spilling from her father's eyes broke her. The fact that her mother was now gone was enough pain for her. The sorrow and bitter taste of betrayal swept over her. She couldn't believe that her own father and sister would keep this away from her until now.

Because of this, Naomi grew aloof and reserved. She didn't spend as much time with her family as she use to before. The news hit her too hard to even bother with them. Even if she did hang out with them, it wouldn't be the same with their mother gone now. Now her father drags her out to the beach with Olivia, but Naomi only wound up in tears instead of learning anything new. Going to the beach reminded her too much of her mother. Even thinking about it caused her emotional pain. It took a while for Naomi to get use to her mother's absence. By the time she turned thirteen, she finally began to accept the empty gap in their family of what was now three.
- Moving In A new home, a new start? I don't think so.

In between the thirteenth year of Naomi's life, her family and her moved into Meansville. Her father's work ordered him to move and work in Meansville. The new and unfamiliar places made Naomi feel uncomfortable. She was feeling homesick. She missed her old home and she missed going to the beach there. Going into their new household, her father happened to meet a new woman through his work. A new woman he now fell in love with.

Naomi grew to despise her. She couldn't accept this woman into her family, let alone the boy with the woman as well. This woman was going to fill in that empty gap where her mother use to be and she just couldn't allow that. It seemed like Olivia could care less about this, but to Naomi it did. Her mother meant a lot to her and she wasn't going to let this new woman her father met take her place. Never did she call this woman her mother nor did she call her son a brother. Naomi began to miss what use to ber her small, lovely family in Seattle. Naomi couldn't believe this was all happening. Her sore heart began to feel more pain from this.
- Host and Spirit We finally meet.

Nearing the ending of the year, Naomi came across something she never thought she'd actually see. It was another day in Meansville and she was wandering around Ocean Valley, not too far away from Zale's Mansion. Wandering around this are became a habit of hers. SHe would often leave the house and walk about, then return home when early evening struck. Walking along the sandy beach, staring at the sandy ground until she noticed a shark's tooth sticking out from the sand. Her dull eyes sparked with interest and fascination, quickly bending over and picking the tooth up.

Wiping the tooth with her shirt, she heard a faint voice. It sounded somewhat feminine. Naomi's blue eyes scanned the area, confusion building up inside of her as she continued to look for that voice that kept calling to her. It took a moment before she noticed that the voice was coming from the shark's tooth itself.

" Hey, you! About time you noticed me! " The voice called out to her, causing Naomi to drop the tooth back onto the sandy floor. Her eyes were wide in shock, taking a step back as she stared at the tooth nervously. She was confused and a tad scared of what was going on. Was she going crazy? She didn't know anything about a tooth talking. Was it even possible?

" Well, talk about rude. You don't just drop someone like that when they're talking to you! " The voice spoke. Naomi's gaze shifted about, nervously picking up the tooth once more with hands that shook with fright. " Now, now! No need to be so scared, young lass. I'm a friendly woman, just so you know! " The tooth said reassuringly, but Naomi was still hesitant on whether to be comfortable with the speaking tooth or not. " Now, you look like a child who needs a bit more pizzazz in their life! Would you like that?" The child thought to herself for a moment, soon nodding her had in response. "Now that's something I like to see! How about you become my host, young lass! Together, we can bring that excitement into your life faster than you can say barnacle! "

Naomi let out a nervous chuckle and nodde dher head once more. The spirit let out a joyful cry and revealed herself to Naomi. Naomi's eyes sparkled at the sight of her. The spirit smiled at her and from there, Naomi became her host, naming the spirit Pheobe. She later on joined the House of Sirens, becoming a proud, courageous soldier of the House. Time passed and she turned fourteen. From the time she spent in the House of Sirens, she grew comfortable with the House's members. To her surprise, she actually began to make friends she could love and cherish the most. The House of Sirens was a special place she could call heaven. It was a place where she can call her true home with a real family that wouldn't hurt her.

"Still Rosa?!" He snapped back at her with bared teeth. "Still Rosa doesn't mean I'm FULL Rosa, dammit! I'm a half-blood royal who happened to be a bloody bastard!" He snarled angrily, his balled fists shaking as he tried to control himself from hitting anything. "How could I know that I got ALL my answers!" He spat, glaring at her with brows scrunching up. He bit his tongue, biting back a bitter reply to what the older woman's words. A growl rumbled in his throat, his tail bristling in fury from her mocking tone. "How dare you... How dare you?!" He placed his hand onto his chest, letting out a snarl. "After all, as you said, I /am/ the heir of the throne. I could have your head sliced right off your neck for what you've said!" He spat bitterly, making sure his cold words tore into her, causing emotional pain.
